ଶିଵ ମାନସ ପୂଜା is a luminous devotional hymn composed by Adi Shankaracharya, teaching that worship can be performed inwardly even when external materials are absent. The devotee imagines a complete royal worship of Lord Shiva: seat, bath, garments, sandal paste, flowers, food, music, circumambulation, prostration, and finally the surrender of every action.
Adi Shankaracharya is remembered as the great Advaita Vedanta teacher who established the non-dual vision of the Upanishads while also composing stotrams that help ordinary devotees refine emotion into contemplation. In this hymn he does not oppose ritual worship; he interiorizes it. Every outer offering becomes a purified mental movement, showing how ଭକ୍ତି and ଜ୍ଞାନ can strengthen one another.

You are my Self; my mind is Parvati; my life-breaths are your attendants; and this body is your temple. My experiences of the world become your worship, sleep becomes absorption, walking becomes circumambulation, and all speech becomes hymns. Whatever action I perform, O Shambhu, may all of it be your adoration.
