श्री वेन्कटेश्वर सुप्रभातम् is the beloved dawn hymn sung to awaken Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala. The opening verse recalls Vishvamitra awakening Rama, and the hymn then turns to Govinda, Lakshmi, the sages, gods, nature, devotees, and the entire sacred environment of Seshadri gathering for the Lord's auspicious morning.
The Suprabhatam is traditionally associated with Prativadi Bhayankaram Annan, a Sri Vaishnava acharya of the lineage of Manavala Mamunigal. In the temple tradition, it is not merely a poem about waking a deity; it is the devotional imagination of the whole cosmos preparing itself for service.
