ශිව මානස පූජ

ශිව මානස පූජා is a luminous devotional hymn composed by Adi Shankaracharya, teaching that worship can be performed inwardly even when external materials are absent. The devotee imagines a complete royal worship of Lord Shiva: seat, bath, garments, sandal paste, flowers, food, music, circumambulation, prostration, and finally the surrender of every action.

Adi Shankaracharya is remembered as the great Advaita Vedanta teacher who established the non-dual vision of the Upanishads while also composing stotrams that help ordinary devotees refine emotion into contemplation. In this hymn he does not oppose ritual worship; he interiorizes it. Every outer offering becomes a purified mental movement, showing how භක්ති and ජ්ඤාන can strengthen one another.

Please accept this worship that has been formed in my heart.
