Sri Rudram Chamakam - Shuddha Telugu

చమకమ్ is the second half of శ్రీ రుద్రమ్. If నమకమ్ trains surrender through repeated నమః, then చమకమ్ trains wholeness through repeated చ మే - "and to me." It is a Vedic prayer for the conditions that support a complete life: inner strength, clear faculties, social order, nourishment, and the resources needed to live ధర్మ.

At first, చ మే can sound like a long list of "wants." But the Vedic context is important: these are not random cravings; they are capacities and supports - breath, mind, speech, food, rain, animals, tools of యజ్ఞ, and the stability of community. The prayer is: may what is needed for a harmonious life be available, so that spiritual growth is not constantly crushed by scarcity, fear, or disorder.

ఓం ఇడా॑ దేవ॒హూ-ర్మను॑ర్యజ్ఞ॒నీ-ర్బృహ॒స్పతి॑రుక్థామ॒దాని॑
శగ్ంసిష॒ద్విశ్వే॑ దే॒వా-స్సూ᳚క్త॒వాచః॒ పృథి॑విమాత॒ర్మా
మా॑ హిగ్ంసీ॒ర్మధు॑ మనిష్యే॒ మధు॑ జనిష్యే॒
మధు॑ వఖ్ష్యామి॒ మధు॑ వదిష్యామి॒
మధు॑మతీ-న్దే॒వేభ్యో॒ వాచ॒ముద్యాసగ్ంశుశ్రూషే॒ణ్యా᳚మ్
మను॒ష్యే᳚భ్య॒స్తం
మా॑ దే॒వా అ॑వన్తు శో॒భాయై॑ పి॒తరో-ఽను॑మదన్తు ॥

Translation (భావార్థ):
May the concluding Vedic blessing (iDA), along with all the gods and Mother Earth, be pleased. May I not harm anyone. May my thoughts, growth, and speech be sweet and worthy of hearing. May the gods protect me and may the ancestors bless and approve.

OM. Peace, peace, peace.
