শ্রী রুদ্রম্, also called the রুদ্র-প্রশ্নঃ, is one of the most revered hymns of the কৃষ্ণ যজুর্বেদ, found in the তৈত্তিরীয় সংহিত (4.5). It is a Vedic salutation to রুদ্র - the power that can appear fearsome as the remover of ignorance and obstacles, and compassionate as the healer who restores harmony.
The recitation traditionally has two parts: নমকম্ (the section centered on repeated নমঃ - "salutations / surrender") and চমকম্ (the section centered on চ মে - "and to me"). Read together, they move from humility and appeasement, to praise of রুদ্র in every direction and form, to prayer for wellbeing, inner strength, and a complete, well-ordered life.

Om. Salutations to the blessed Lord Rudra.
নম॑স্তে রুদ্র ম॒ন্যব॑ উ॒তোত॒ ইষ॑বে॒ নমঃ॑ ।
নম॑স্তে অস্তু॒ ধন্ব॑নে বা॒হুভ্য়া॑মু॒ত তে॒ নমঃ॑ ॥
Translation (ভাবার্থ):
O Rudra, salutations to your fierce power and to your arrow; salutations to your bow and to your two arms.
যা ত॒ ইষুঃ॑ শি॒বত॑মা শি॒বং ব॒ভূব॑ তে॒ ধনুঃ॑ ।
শি॒বা শ॑র॒ব্য়া॑ যা তব॒ তয়া॑ নো রুদ্র মৃডয় ।
Translation (ভাবার্থ):
May your arrow, bow, and quiver become auspicious and benevolent; with that, O Rudra, be gracious to us.
যা তে॑ রুদ্র শি॒বা ত॒নূরঘো॒রাঽপা॑পকাশিনী ।
তয়া॑ নস্ত॒নুবা॒ শংত॑ময়া॒ গিরি॑শংতা॒ভিচা॑কশীহি ॥
Translation (ভাবার্থ):
O Rudra, with your peaceful, non-harmful, purifying form, look upon us graciously, O Lord of the mountains.
যামিষুং॑ গিরিশংত॒ হস্তে॒ বিভ॒র্ষ্যস্ত॑বে ।
শি॒বাং গি॑রিত্র॒ তাং কু॑রু॒ মা হিগ্ম্॑সীঃ॒ পুরু॑ষং॒ জগ॑ত্॥
Translation (ভাবার্থ):
O mountain-roamer, make the arrow in your hand auspicious; do not harm people or the world.
শি॒বেন॒ বচ॑সা ত্বা॒ গিরি॒শাচ্ছা॑ বদামসি ।
যথা॑ নঃ॒ সর্ব॒মিজ্জগ॑দয়॒ক্ষ্মগ্ম্ সু॒মনা॒ অস॑ত্ ॥
Translation (ভাবার্থ):
O Lord of the mountains, we pray to you with auspicious words; may this whole world be free of affliction and may our hearts be well-disposed.
অধ্য়॑বোচদধিব॒ক্তা প্র॑থ॒মো দৈব্য়ো॑ ভি॒ষক্ ।
অহীগ্॑শ্চ॒ সর্বাং᳚জং॒ভয়॒ন্-থ্সর্বা᳚শ্চ যাতুধা॒ন্য়ঃ॑ ॥
Translation (ভাবার্থ):
May the foremost divine healer speak on our behalf and subdue all poisons and destructive forces.
অ॒সৌ যস্তা॒ম্রো অ॑রু॒ণ উ॒ত ব॒ভ্রুস্সু॑মং॒গলঃ॑ ।
যে চে॒মাগ্ম্ রু॒দ্রা অ॒ভিতো॑ দি॒ক্ষু শ্রি॒তাঃ স॑হস্র॒শোঽবৈ॑ষা॒গ্ম্॒ হেড॑ ঈমহে ॥
Translation (ভাবার্থ):
To the auspicious Rudra who appears in many hues, and to the Rudras established in all directions, we offer salutations to soften their fierce intensity.
অ॒সৌ যো॑ঽব॒সর্প॑তি॒ নীল॑গ্রীবো॒ বিলো॑হিতঃ ।
উ॒তৈনং॑ গো॒পা অ॑দৃশ॒ন্নদৃ॑শন্নুদহা॒র্য়ঃ॑ ।
Translation (ভাবার্থ):
That blue-necked, red-hued Rudra who moves about is seen by cowherds and by those who draw water.
উ॒তৈনং॒-বিঁশ্বা॑ ভূ॒তানি॒ স দৃ॒ষ্টো মৃ॑ডয়াতি নঃ ॥
Translation (ভাবার্থ):
All beings see him; may he, being perceived everywhere, be gracious to us.
নমো॑ অস্তু॒ নীল॑গ্রীবায় সহস্রা॒ক্ষায়॑ মী॒ঢুষে᳚ ।
অথো॒ যে অ॑স্য়॒ সত্বা॑নো॒ঽহং তেভ্য়ো॑ঽকর॒ন্নমঃ॑ ॥
Translation (ভাবার্থ):
Salutations to the blue-necked, thousand-eyed, bountiful Lord - and to all his attendant forms.
প্রমুং॑চ॒ ধন্ব॑ন॒স্ত্বমু॒ভয়ো॒রার্ত্নি॑ যো॒র্জ্য়াম্ ।
যাশ্চ॑ তে॒ হস্ত॒ ইষ॑বঃ॒ পরা॒ তা ভ॑গবো বপ ॥
Translation (ভাবার্থ):
Loosen your bowstring from both ends, and set aside the arrows in your hand, O Lord.
অ॒ব॒তত্য়॒ ধনু॒স্ত্বগ্ম্ সহ॑স্রাক্ষ॒ শতে॑ষুধে ।
নি॒শীর্য়॑ শ॒ল্য়ানাং॒ মুখা॑ শি॒বো নঃ॑ সু॒মনা॑ ভব ॥
Translation (ভাবার্থ):
Unstring the bow, blunt the arrow-points, and be benevolent and kindly disposed toward us.
বিজ্য়ং॒ ধনুঃ॑ কপ॒র্দিনো॒ বিশ॑ল্য়ো॒ বাণ॑বাগ্ম্ উ॒ত ।
অনে॑শন্ন॒স্য়েষ॑ব আ॒ভুর॑স্য় নিষং॒গথিঃ॑ ॥
Translation (ভাবার্থ):
May the bow of the matted-haired Lord be unstrung, the arrows harmless, and the quiver non-threatening.
যা তে॑ হে॒তির্মী॑ডুষ্টম॒ হস্তে॑ ব॒ভূব॑ তে॒ ধনুঃ॑ ।
তয়া॒ঽস্মান্, বি॒শ্বত॒স্ত্বম॑য়॒ক্ষ্ময়া॒ পরি॑ব্ভুজ ॥
Translation (ভাবার্থ):
With that weapon-power and bow in your hand, protect us on all sides and keep us free from affliction.
নম॑স্তে অ॒স্ত্বায়ু॑ধা॒য়ানা॑ততায় ধৃ॒ষ্ণবে᳚ ।
উ॒ভাভ্য়া॑মু॒ত তে॒ নমো॑ বা॒হুভ্য়াং॒ তব॒ ধন্ব॑নে ॥
Translation (ভাবার্থ):
Salutations to your readied weapon, to your strong arms, and to your bow.
পরি॑ তে॒ ধন্ব॑নো হে॒তির॒স্মান্ বৃ॑ণক্তু বি॒শ্বতঃ॑ ।
অথো॒ য ই॑ষু॒ধিস্তবা॒রে অ॒স্মন্নিধে॑হি॒ তম্ ॥ 1 ॥
Translation (ভাবার্থ):
May the missile-power of your bow not strike us but turn away on all sides; place your quiver far away from us. (End of Anuvaka 1.)
