Meaning
𑌦𑍁𑌰𑍍𑌵𑌾𑌸𑌾𑌃- - the sage Durvaasaa; 𑌸𑍁𑌰-𑌵𑌨𑌿𑌤𑌾-𑌆𑌪𑍍𑌤-𑌦𑌿𑌵𑍍𑌯-𑌮𑌾𑌲𑍍𑌯𑌂 - from heavenly nymphs had obtained a divine garland; 𑌶𑍁𑌕𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌯 𑌸𑍍𑌵𑌯𑌮𑍍-𑌉𑌪𑌦𑌾𑌯 𑌤𑌤𑍍𑌰 𑌭𑍂𑌯𑌃 - to Indra,having personally given it there then; 𑌨𑌾𑌗𑍇𑌂𑌦𑍍𑌰-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌤𑌿𑌮𑍃𑌦𑌿𑌤𑍇 - by Indra's elephant it being trampled; 𑌶𑌶𑌾𑌪 𑌶𑌕𑍍𑌰𑌂 - cursed Indra; 𑌕𑌾 𑌕𑍍𑌷𑌾𑌂𑌤𑌿𑌃- - what forbearance (is there); 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌇𑌤𑌰- - other than Thee; 𑌦𑍇𑌵𑌤𑌾-𑌅𑌂𑌶𑌜𑌾𑌨𑌾𑌮𑍍 - who are born of (other than Thee) Devas;

Translation
The sage Durvaasaa once gave a celestial garland to Indra, which he had got from heavenly nymphs. When he saw the garland being crushed by Indra's elephant, he cursed Indra. Where can forbearance be seen except in those born of and blessed by Thee.

Meaning
𑌶𑌾𑌪𑍇𑌨 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌥𑌿𑌤-𑌜𑌰𑍇-𑌅𑌥 - due to the curse Indra became aged, then; 𑌨𑌿𑌰𑍍𑌜𑌰-𑌇𑌂𑌦𑍍𑌰𑍇 - Indra, who was ageless; 𑌦𑍇𑌵𑍇𑌷𑍁-𑌅𑌪𑌿-𑌅𑌸𑍁𑌰-𑌜𑌿𑌤𑍇𑌷𑍁 - when the Devas also were defeated by the Asuras; 𑌨𑌿𑌷𑍍𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌭𑍇𑌷𑍁 - (and so) had lost their glory; 𑌶𑌰𑍍𑌵-𑌆𑌦𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌃 - beginning with Shiva; 𑌕𑌮𑌲𑌜𑌮𑍍-𑌏𑌤𑍍𑌯 - approaching Brahmaa; 𑌸𑌰𑍍𑌵-𑌦𑍇𑌵𑌾𑌃 - all the gods; 𑌨𑌿𑌰𑍍𑌵𑌾𑌣-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌭𑌵 - O Bestower of Salvation!; 𑌸𑌮𑌂 - with (Shiva); 𑌭𑌵𑌂𑌤𑌮𑍍-𑌆𑌪𑍁𑌃 - came to Thee;

Translation
O Bestower of Liberation! Indra known as the unaging one, became aged as a result of Durvaasaa's curse. His followers, the Devas lost all their glory and were defeated by the Asuraas. The gods along with Shiva and others went to Brahmaa and they all took refuge in Thee.

𑌬𑍍𑌰𑌹𑍍𑌮𑌾-𑌆𑌦𑍍𑌯𑍈𑌃 - by Brahmaa and other gods; 𑌸𑍍𑌤𑍁𑌤-𑌮𑌹𑌿𑌮𑌾 𑌚𑌿𑌰𑌂 - being sung Thy excellences for long; 𑌤𑌦𑌾𑌨𑍀𑌂 - at that time; 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌦𑍁𑌷𑍍𑌷𑌨𑍍 - appearing; 𑌵𑌰𑌦 - O Bestower of Boons!; 𑌪𑍁𑌰𑌃 - in front (of them); 𑌪𑌰𑍇𑌣 𑌧𑌾𑌮𑍍𑌨𑌾 - with supreme glory (commanded); 𑌹𑍇 𑌦𑍇𑌵𑌾 - O Gods!; 𑌦𑌿𑌤𑌿𑌜-𑌕𑍁𑌲𑍈𑌃- - with the Asuras,; 𑌵𑌿𑌧𑌾𑌯 𑌸𑌂𑌧𑌿𑌂 - making peace,; 𑌪𑍀𑌯𑍂𑌷𑌂 𑌪𑌰𑌿𑌮𑌥𑌤- - nectar churn out; 𑌇𑌤𑌿 𑌪𑌰𑍍𑌯𑌶𑌾𑌃-𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌮𑍍 - thus commanded Thee;

Translation
Brahmaa and the other gods sung Thy excellences for long. O Bestower of Boons! Thou then manifested Thyself before them in great glory and commanded them to make peace with the Asuras and then prepare to churn the milk ocean for nectar.

𑌸𑌂𑌧𑌾𑌨𑌂 𑌕𑍃𑌤𑌵𑌤𑌿 - having made peace; 𑌦𑌾𑌨𑌵𑍈𑌃 𑌸𑍁𑌰𑍌𑌘𑍇 - with the Asuras by the gods; 𑌮𑌂𑌥𑌾𑌨𑌂 𑌨𑌯𑌤𑌿 - when carrying the churning rod; 𑌮𑌦𑍇𑌨 𑌮𑌂𑌦𑌰-𑌅𑌦𑍍𑌰𑌿𑌮𑍍 - with great pride, the Mandara mountain; 𑌭𑍍𑌰𑌷𑍍𑌟𑍇-𑌅𑌸𑍍𑌮𑌿𑌨𑍍 - (when) it fell down; 𑌬𑌦𑌰𑌮𑍍-𑌇𑌵-𑌉𑌦𑍍𑌵𑌹𑌨𑍍 - as a berry picking it up; 𑌖𑌗𑍇𑌂𑌦𑍍𑌰𑍇 𑌸𑌦𑍍𑌯𑌃-𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌮𑍍 - On Garuda immediately Thou; 𑌵𑌿𑌨𑌿𑌹𑌿𑌤𑌵𑌾𑌨𑍍 - placed it; 𑌪𑌯𑌃𑌪𑌯𑍋𑌧𑍌 - in the milk ocean;

Translation
Devas made peace with the Asuras and with great pride carried the Mandara mountain for use as a churning rod. The mountain fell from their hands on the way. Then Thou seated on Garuda, picked it up as if it were a tiny berry and installed it in the milk ocean.

𑌆𑌧𑌾𑌯 𑌦𑍍𑌰𑍁𑌤𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌥 - placing quickly then; 𑌵𑌾𑌸𑍁𑌕𑌿𑌂 𑌵𑌰𑌤𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌂 - Vaasuki (snake) (as the ) churning rope; 𑌪𑌾𑌥𑍋𑌧𑍌 - in that milk ocean; 𑌵𑌿𑌨𑌿𑌹𑌿𑌤-𑌸𑌰𑍍𑌵-𑌬𑍀𑌜-𑌜𑌾𑌲𑍇 - (in which) had been put all kinds of seeds and herbs; 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌰𑌬𑍍𑌧𑍇 𑌮𑌥𑌨-𑌵𑌿𑌧𑍌 - having started the process of churning; 𑌸𑍁𑌰𑍍-𑌅𑌸𑍁𑌰𑍈𑌃-𑌤𑍈𑌃- - by those gods and Asuras; 𑌵𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌜𑌾𑌤𑍍-𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌂 - Thou by a trick; 𑌭𑍁𑌜𑌗-𑌮𑍁𑌖𑍇-𑌅𑌕𑌰𑍋𑌃- - on the side of the serpent's mouth (Thou) put; 𑌸𑍁𑌰𑌾𑌰𑍀𑌨𑍍 - the Asuras;

Translation
Then quickly placing Vasuki snake as the churning rope, the Devas and Asuras started the process of churning the milk ocean in which all kinds of herbs and seeds had been put. Thou then cleverly made the Asuras hold the head end of the snake.

Translation
When the Mandara mountain as a churning rod had fully stirred the waters of the milk ocean to its depth, it sank due to its own weight. The Devas became very worried. Thee who are their well wisher, assumed the form of a tortoise with a hard back.

Meaning
𑌵𑌜𑍍𑌰-𑌅𑌤𑌿-𑌸𑍍𑌥𑌿𑌰-𑌕𑌰𑍍𑌪𑌰𑍇𑌣 - with the back more hard than the thunderbolt; 𑌵𑌿𑌷𑍍𑌣𑍋 - O All Pervading being!; 𑌵𑌿𑌸𑍍𑌤𑌾𑌰𑌾𑌤𑍍- - and in extent (width); 𑌪𑌰𑌿𑌗𑌤-𑌲𑌕𑍍𑌷-𑌯𑍋𑌜𑌨𑍇𑌨 - exceeding a lakh of Yojanas; 𑌅𑌂𑌭𑍋𑌧𑍇𑌃 𑌕𑍁𑌹𑌰-𑌗𑌤𑍇𑌨 - (the rod) which had sunk deep into the ocean; 𑌵𑌰𑍍𑌷𑍍𑌮𑌣𑌾 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌂 - with such a body Thou; 𑌨𑌿𑌰𑍍𑌮𑍍𑌗𑍍𑌨𑌂 𑌕𑍍𑌷𑌿𑌤𑌿𑌧𑌰𑌨𑌾𑌥𑌮𑍍- - the great mountain which had sunk (into the sea); 𑌉𑌨𑍍𑌨𑌿𑌨𑍇𑌥 - (Thou) lifted up;

Translation
O All pervading Being! by diving deep into the ocean Thou lifted up the sinking mountain on Thy back which was harder than a thunderbolt and more than a lakh of Yojanas in width.

𑌉𑌨𑍍𑌮𑌗𑍍𑌨𑍇 - (the mountain) having come up; 𑌝𑌟𑌿𑌤𑌿 𑌤𑌦𑌾 - quickly then; 𑌧𑌰𑌾𑌧𑌰𑍇𑌂𑌦𑍍𑌰𑍇 - the mountain,; 𑌨𑌿𑌰𑍍𑌮𑍇𑌥𑍁𑌃-𑌦𑍃𑌢𑌮𑍍-𑌇𑌹 - they churned with great force, here; 𑌸𑌮𑍍𑌮𑌦𑍇𑌨 𑌸𑌰𑍍𑌵𑍇 - (and) with enthusiasm all of them (the Asuras and the Devas); 𑌆𑌵𑌿𑌶𑍍𑌯 - (Thou) entering; 𑌦𑍍𑌵𑌿𑌤𑌯𑌗𑌣𑍇- - into both the parties; 𑌅𑌪𑌿 𑌸𑌰𑍍𑌪𑌰𑌾𑌜𑍇 - and also the serpent Vasuki; 𑌵𑍈𑌵𑌶𑍍𑌯𑌂 - their fatigue; 𑌪𑌰𑌿𑌶𑌮𑌯𑌨𑍍 - removing; 𑌅𑌵𑍀𑌵𑍃𑌧𑌃 𑌤𑌾𑌨𑍍 - invigorated them;

When the mountain was lifted up, they, the Devas and Asuras all churned with great force and enthusiasm. Thou entering into both the parties and also into the snake Vasuki, removed their fatigue and invigorated them.

𑌉𑌦𑍍𑌦𑌾𑌮-𑌭𑍍𑌰𑌮𑌣-𑌜𑌵- - by the powerful speed of the whirling; 𑌉𑌨𑍍𑌨𑌮𑌤𑍍-𑌗𑌿𑌰𑍀𑌂𑌦𑍍𑌰- - the mountain having come up; 𑌨𑍍𑌯𑌸𑍍𑌤-𑌏𑌕-𑌸𑍍𑌥𑌿𑌰𑌤𑌰-𑌹𑌸𑍍𑌤-𑌪𑌂𑌕𑌜𑌮𑍍 - placed one strong lotus hand firmly; 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌾𑌮𑍍 - Thou; 𑌅𑌭𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌂𑌤𑍇 - in the heavens; 𑌵𑌿𑌧𑌿-𑌗𑌿𑌰𑌿𑌶-𑌆𑌦𑌯𑌃 - Brahmaa Shiva and other gods; 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌮𑍋𑌦𑌾𑌤𑍍-𑌉𑌦𑍍𑌭𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌂𑌤𑌾 - overwhelmed with joy; 𑌨𑍁𑌨𑍁𑌵𑍁𑌃- - praised Thee; 𑌉𑌪𑌾𑌤𑍍𑌤-𑌪𑍁𑌷𑍍𑌪-𑌵𑌰𑍍𑌷𑌾𑌃 - and shed showers of flowers;

Translation
When the Mandara mountain rose up because of the powerful speed of the whirling, Thou placed Thy one lotus hand firmly on it, to keep it in position. Brahmaa Shiva and other gods were overwhelmed with joy and praised Thee as they shed showers of flowers.

Meaning
𑌦𑍈𑌤𑍍𑌯𑍌𑌘𑍇 - (when) the group of Asuras; 𑌭𑍁𑌜𑌗-𑌮𑍁𑌖-𑌅𑌨𑌿𑌲𑍇𑌨 - by the fire from the mouth of the serpent (the poisonous breath); 𑌤𑌪𑍍𑌤𑍇 - were scorched (tormented); 𑌤𑍇𑌨-𑌏𑌵 - by that even; 𑌤𑍍𑌰𑌿𑌦𑌶𑌕𑍁𑌲𑍇-𑌅𑌪𑌿 - the Devas also; 𑌕𑌿𑌂𑌚𑌿𑌤𑍍-𑌆𑌰𑍍𑌤𑍇 - were troubled a little; 𑌕𑌾𑌰𑍁𑌣𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌤𑍍-𑌤𑌵 - by Thy compassion; 𑌕𑌿𑌲 𑌦𑍇𑌵 - Indeed O Lord!; 𑌵𑌾𑌰𑌿𑌵𑌾𑌹𑌃 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌵𑌰𑍍𑌷𑌨𑍍- - The clouds were made to rain; 𑌅𑌮𑌰𑌗𑌣𑌾𑌨𑍍- - on the Devas; 𑌨 𑌦𑍈𑌤𑍍𑌯-𑌸𑌂𑌘𑌾𑌨𑍍 - not on the Asuras;

Translation
The group of Asuras were scorched by the fire emitting from the mouth of the serpent. The Devas were also to some extent troubled. O Lord! By Thy compassion the clouds were made to rain on the Devas to cool them, but not on the Asuras.

𑌉𑌦𑍍𑌭𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌮𑍍𑌯𑌤𑍍 - ejecting up; 𑌬𑌹𑍁-𑌤𑌿𑌮𑌿-𑌨𑌕𑍍𑌰-𑌚𑌕𑍍𑌰𑌵𑌾𑌲𑍇 - many fish crocodiles and other aquatic creatures; 𑌤𑌤𑍍𑌰-𑌅𑌬𑍍𑌧𑍌 - there (when) the ocean; 𑌚𑌿𑌰-𑌮𑌥𑌿𑌤𑍇-𑌅𑌪𑌿 - in spite being churned for long; 𑌨𑌿𑌰𑍍𑌵𑌿𑌕𑌾𑌰𑍇 - remained unchanged; 𑌏𑌕𑌃-𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌂 - Thou alone; 𑌕𑌰-𑌯𑍁𑌗-𑌕𑍃𑌷𑍍𑌟-𑌸𑌰𑍍𑌪𑌰𑌾𑌜𑌃 - with (Thy) two hands pulled the (two ends) of the serpent king; 𑌸𑌂𑌰𑌾𑌜𑌨𑍍 - shining brightly; 𑌪𑌵𑌨𑌪𑍁𑌰𑍇𑌶 - O Lord of Guruvaayur!; 𑌪𑌾𑌹𑌿 𑌰𑍋𑌗𑌾𑌤𑍍 - relieve (me of my) diseases;

Translation
In spite of being churned for long, the ocean remained unchanged, though many fish crocodile and other aquatic creatures were thrown up. Thou alone, then, shining brilliantly, with Thy two hands pulled the two ends of the serpent. O Lord of Guruvaayur! Relieve me of my diseases.
