Meaning
𑌗𑍂𑌢𑌮𑍍 - secretly (said); 𑌵𑌸𑍁𑌦𑍇𑌵-𑌗𑌿𑌰𑌾 - the words of Vasudeva (directed by that); 𑌕𑌰𑍍𑌤𑍁𑌂 𑌤𑍇 - to do (perform) Thy; 𑌨𑌿𑌷𑍍𑌕𑍍𑌰𑌿𑌯𑌸𑍍𑌯 - who are above all rites and rituals; 𑌸𑌂𑌸𑍍𑌕𑌾𑌰𑌾𑌨𑍍 - (Thy) sacraments; 𑌹𑍃𑌦𑍍-𑌗𑌤-𑌹𑍋𑌰𑌾-𑌤𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌃 - an expert in astrology; 𑌗𑌰𑍍𑌗-𑌮𑍁𑌨𑌿𑌃 - Garga Muni; 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌗𑍃𑌹𑌮𑍍 - to Thy house; 𑌵𑌿𑌭𑍋 - O Lord!; 𑌗𑌤𑌵𑌾𑌨𑍍 - went;

Translation
O All pervading Lord! Thou are above and beyond all ceremonies and rites. Yet, Garga Muni an expert at astronomy and astrology, went to Thy house at the secret request of Vasudeva, to perform sacraments for Thee.

𑌨𑌂𑌦𑍋𑌽𑌥 𑌨𑌂𑌦𑌿𑌤𑌾𑌤𑍍𑌮𑌾 𑌵𑍃𑌂𑌦𑌿𑌷𑍍𑌟𑌂 𑌮𑌾𑌨𑌯𑌨𑍍𑌨𑌮𑍁𑌂 𑌯𑌮𑌿𑌨𑌾𑌮𑍍 ।
𑌮𑌂𑌦𑌸𑍍𑌮𑌿𑌤𑌾𑌰𑍍𑌦𑍍𑌰𑌮𑍂𑌚𑍇 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍𑌸𑌂𑌸𑍍𑌕𑌾𑌰𑌾𑌨𑍍 𑌵𑌿𑌧𑌾𑌤𑍁𑌮𑍁𑌤𑍍𑌸𑍁𑌕𑌧𑍀𑌃 ॥2॥

Meaning
𑌨𑌂𑌦𑌃-𑌅𑌥 - Nanda, then; 𑌨𑌂𑌦𑌿𑌤-𑌆𑌤𑍍𑌮𑌾 - delightfully; 𑌵𑍃𑌂𑌦𑌿𑌷𑍍𑌟𑌮𑍍 - the greatest of all; 𑌮𑌾𑌨𑌯𑌨𑍍-𑌅𑌮𑍁𑌮𑍍 - honouring, this (Garga Muni); 𑌯𑌮𑌿𑌨𑌾𑌮𑍍 - (greatest) of all the sages; 𑌮𑌂𑌦𑍍-𑌸𑍍𑌮𑌿𑌤-𑌆𑌰𑍍𑌦𑍍𑌰𑌮𑍍-𑌊𑌚𑍇 - with a gentle smile said (requested); 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌸𑌂𑌸𑍍𑌕𑌾𑌰𑌨𑍍 - sacraments for Thee; 𑌵𑌿𑌧𑌾𑌤𑍁𑌮𑍍-𑌉𑌤𑍍𑌸𑍁𑌕-𑌧𑍀𑌃 - to perform (who) was eager;

Translation
Nanda was very delighted and he honoured the greatest of all the sages Garga Muni, who was eager to perform the sacraments for Thee. He then, with a gentle smile requested the sage to perform the rites.

𑌯𑌦𑍁𑌵𑌂𑌶𑌾𑌚𑌾𑌰𑍍𑌯𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌾𑌤𑍍 𑌸𑍁𑌨𑌿𑌭𑍃𑌤𑌮𑌿𑌦𑌮𑌾𑌰𑍍𑌯 𑌕𑌾𑌰𑍍𑌯𑌮𑌿𑌤𑌿 𑌕𑌥𑌯𑌨𑍍 ।
𑌗𑌰𑍍𑌗𑍋 𑌨𑌿𑌰𑍍𑌗𑌤𑌪𑍁𑌲𑌕𑌶𑍍𑌚𑌕𑍍𑌰𑍇 𑌤𑌵 𑌸𑌾𑌗𑍍𑌰𑌜𑌸𑍍𑌯 𑌨𑌾𑌮𑌾𑌨𑌿 ॥3॥

Meaning
𑌯𑌦𑍁𑌵𑌂𑌶- - of the Yadu clan; 𑌆𑌚𑌾𑌰𑍍𑌯𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌾𑌤𑍍 - being the priest; 𑌸𑍁𑌨𑌿𑌭𑍃𑌤𑌮𑍍-𑌇𑌦𑌮𑍍- - very secretly this; 𑌆𑌰𑍍𑌯 𑌕𑌾𑌰𑍍𑌯𑌮𑍍-𑌇𑌤𑌿 - O Respected One (Nanda), should be done, thus; 𑌕𑌥𑌯𑌨𑍍 𑌗𑌰𑍍𑌗𑌃 - saying, sage Garga; 𑌨𑌿𑌰𑍍𑌗𑌤-𑌪𑍁𑌲𑌕𑌃- - with horripilation; 𑌚𑌕𑍍𑌰𑍇 𑌤𑌵 - performed, Thy with Thy elder brother's; 𑌸𑌾𑌗𑍍𑌰𑌜𑌸𑍍𑌯 𑌨𑌾𑌮𑌾𑌨𑌿 - naming (ceremony);

Translation
Sage Garga said,'O Respected Nanda, since I am the priest of the Yadu clan, this ceremony must be performed in great secrecy'. Saying so, with horripilation over his body he performed the naming ceremony of Thee and Thy elder brother.

Meaning
𑌕𑌥𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌸𑍍𑌯 - how, for this (child); 𑌨𑌾𑌮 𑌕𑍁𑌰𑍍𑌵𑍇 - naming should I do; 𑌸𑌹𑌸𑍍𑌰-𑌨𑌾𑌮𑍍𑌨𑌃 𑌹𑌿- - (who) having a thousand names indeed; 𑌅𑌨𑌂𑌤-𑌨𑌾𑌮𑍍𑌨𑌃 𑌵𑌾 - or rather having endless names; 𑌇𑌤𑌿 𑌨𑍂𑌨𑌂 - thus surely (thinking); 𑌗𑌰𑍍𑌗-𑌮𑍁𑌨𑌿𑌃- - Garga Muni; 𑌚𑌕𑍍𑌰𑍇 𑌤𑌵 𑌨𑌾𑌮 - performed Thy naming; 𑌨𑌾𑌮 𑌰𑌹𑌸𑌿 - in great secrecy; 𑌵𑌿𑌭𑍋 - O Lord!;

Translation
How should I do the naming of this child? He indeed has thousands of names or rather endless names. O Lord! May be that sage Garga thinking like this, performed Thy naming in great secrecy.

Meaning
𑌕𑍃𑌷𑌿-𑌧𑌾𑌤𑍁- - Krish, the root (verb); 𑌣-𑌕𑌾𑌰𑌾𑌭𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌮𑍍 - and with N suffix (by putting the two together); 𑌸𑌤𑍍𑌤𑌾-𑌆𑌨𑌂𑌦-𑌆𑌤𑍍𑌮𑌤𑌾𑌮𑍍 - Existence Bliss (being Thy) real nature; 𑌕𑌿𑌲-𑌅𑌭𑌿𑌲𑌪𑌤𑍍 - indeed denoting; 𑌜𑌗𑌤𑍍-𑌅𑌘-𑌕𑌰𑍍𑌷𑌿𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌂 𑌵𑌾 - or of (the people of) the world, the sins, drawing away; 𑌕𑌥𑌯𑌤𑍍-𑌋𑌷𑌿𑌃 - declaring, the sage; 𑌕𑍃𑌷𑍍𑌣-𑌨𑌾𑌮 𑌤𑍇 - the name Krishna to Thee; 𑌵𑍍𑌯𑌤𑌨𑍋𑌤𑍍 - gave;

Translation
The putting together of the root of the verb Krish and the suffix N, denoting the combining of Existence and absolute Bliss, which is Thy real nature, declaring, the sage gave Thee the name Krishna. Also signifying the drawing away of the sins of the people of the world, the name Krishna was given to Thee.

𑌅𑌨𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌂𑌶𑍍𑌚 𑌨𑌾𑌮𑌭𑍇𑌦𑌾𑌨𑍍 𑌵𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌕𑍁𑌰𑍍𑌵𑌨𑍍𑌨𑌗𑍍𑌰𑌜𑍇 𑌚 𑌰𑌾𑌮𑌾𑌦𑍀𑌨𑍍 ।

Meaning
𑌅𑌨𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌨𑍍-𑌚 𑌨𑌾𑌮-𑌭𑍇𑌦𑌾𑌨𑍍 - and other different names; 𑌵𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌕𑍁𑌰𑍍𑌵𑌨𑍍- - giving (like Vaasudeva); 𑌅𑌗𑍍𑌰𑌜𑍇 𑌚 𑌰𑌾𑌮-𑌆𑌦𑍀𑌨𑍍 - and to Thy elder brother Raama etc (calling thus); 𑌅𑌤𑌿𑌮𑌾𑌨𑍁𑌷-𑌅𑌨𑍁𑌭𑌾𑌵𑌂 - (of a) superhuman disposition; 𑌨𑍍𑌯𑌗𑌦𑌤𑍍- - told (indicated); 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌾𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌕𑌾𑌶𑌯𑌨𑍍 - Thee not revealing; 𑌪𑌿𑌤𑍍𑌰𑍇 - to (Thy) father;

Translation
The sage also gave Thee other different names like Vaasudeva. Then he gave the name Raama etc to Thy elder brother. Having done so, Garg Muni indicated to Thy having superhuman powers and disposition, to Thy father. Yet he did not fully reveal Thy real identity as Lord Himself.

Meaning
𑌸𑍍𑌨𑌿𑌹𑍍𑌯𑌤𑌿 𑌯𑌃-𑌤𑌵 𑌪𑍁𑌤𑍍𑌰𑍇 - whoever loves your son; 𑌮𑍁𑌹𑍍𑌯𑌤𑌿 𑌸 𑌨 𑌮𑌾𑌯𑌿𑌕𑍈𑌃 - he will not be deluded by Maayaa; 𑌪𑍁𑌨𑌃 𑌶𑍋𑌕𑍈𑌃 - (and) again by sorrows; 𑌦𑍍𑌰𑍁𑌹𑍍𑌯𑌤𑌿 𑌯𑌃 - he who goes against him; 𑌸 𑌤𑍁 𑌨𑌶𑍍𑌯𑍇𑌤𑍍- - he certainly will be destroyed; 𑌇𑌤𑌿-𑌅𑌵𑌦𑌤𑍍- - thus said; 𑌤𑍇 𑌮𑌹𑌤𑍍𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌮𑍍- - Thy glory; 𑌋𑌷𑌿𑌵𑌰𑍍𑌯𑌃 - the great sage;

Translation
Who so ever loves your son will not be deluded by Maayaa and so will not be overcome by sorrows thereafter. And who so ever assails him will certainly perish.' Thus the great sage described Thy glory and greatness.

Meaning
𑌜𑍇𑌷𑍍𑌯𑌤𑌿 𑌬𑌹𑍁𑌤𑌰-𑌦𑍈𑌤𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌨𑍍 - will conquer many Asuras; 𑌨𑍇𑌷𑍍𑌯𑌤𑌿 𑌨𑌿𑌜𑌬𑌂𑌧𑍁-𑌲𑍋𑌕𑌮𑍍- - will take his own people; 𑌅𑌮𑌲-𑌪𑌦𑌮𑍍 - to the pure realm; 𑌶𑍍𑌰𑍋𑌷𑍍𑌯𑌸𑌿 - will make you hear; 𑌸𑍁𑌵𑌿𑌮𑌲-𑌕𑍀𑌰𑍍𑌤𑍀𑌃-𑌅𑌸𑍍𑌯- - very pure fame, his; 𑌇𑌤𑌿 𑌭𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌵𑌿𑌭𑍂𑌤𑌿𑌮𑍍- - thus Thy greatness; 𑌋𑌷𑌿𑌃-𑌊𑌚𑍇 - the sage spoke;

Translation
He will conquer many Asuras and will take his own people to the realms of purity. You will have occasions to hear of his untainted pure fame.' Thus the sage spoke of Thy greatness.

𑌅𑌮𑍁𑌨𑌾-𑌏𑌵 - by him alone; 𑌸𑌰𑍍𑌵-𑌦𑍁𑌰𑍍𑌗𑌂 𑌤𑌰𑌿𑌤𑌾𑌸𑍍𑌥 - all obstacles (you) will cross; 𑌕𑍃𑌤-𑌆𑌸𑍍𑌥𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌤𑍍𑌰 - placing your faith here; 𑌤𑌿𑌷𑍍𑌠𑌧𑍍𑌵𑌮𑍍 - remain; 𑌹𑌰𑌿𑌃-𑌏𑌵-𑌇𑌤𑌿- - Hari only is this; 𑌅𑌨𑌭𑌿𑌲𑌪𑌨𑍍- - not saying; 𑌇𑌤𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌦𑌿 - in this manner; 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌾𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌵𑌰𑍍𑌣𑌯𑌤𑍍 - Thee described; 𑌸 𑌮𑍁𑌨𑌿𑌃 - that sage;

Translation
By his help alone you will be able to overcome all obstacles. Remain with your full faith placed in him.' Thus without saying that Thou were Hari, the sage thus described Thee.

𑌗𑌰𑍍𑌗𑍇-𑌅𑌥 - then Garg Muni; 𑌨𑌿𑌰𑍍𑌗𑌤𑍇-𑌅𑌸𑍍𑌮𑌿𑌨𑍍 - having left, he,; 𑌨𑌂𑌦𑌿𑌤-𑌨𑌂𑌦-𑌆𑌦𑌿- - delighted Nanda and others; 𑌨𑌂𑌦𑍍𑌯𑌮𑌾𑌨𑌃-𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌮𑍍 - endeared Thou; 𑌮𑌤𑍍-𑌗𑌦𑌮𑍍- - my ailments; 𑌉𑌦𑍍𑌗𑌤-𑌕𑌰𑍁𑌣𑌃 - (Thou) full of compassion; 𑌨𑌿𑌰𑍍𑌗𑌮𑌯 - remove; 𑌶𑍍𑌰𑍀𑌮𑌰𑍁𑌤𑍍𑌪𑍁𑌰𑌾𑌧𑍀𑌶 - O Lord of Guruvaayur!;

Translation
Then Garga Muni went away. Nanda and the others were very delighted and looked after Thee endearingly. O Lord of Guruvaayur! who are full of compassion, remove my ailments.
